Ishmael

The most basic operation in Ishmael is viewing a sound by displaying it in a spectrogram and time series.

Spectrograms in Ishmael show time on the horizontal axis and frequency on the vertical axis.
Can record sound in the lab and in the field
- Ishmael captures sound on disk in real time
- you set the sampling rate; up to 300 kHz
- sound is stored on disk as a series of sound files
- sound file names can include a time stamp
